Buddhism came over 500 years before Christianity. The names Buddha and Christ have the exact same meaning. Buddha means enlightenment or Wisdom, Christ means anointed. What we call Christianity today emerged from the Buddhist teachings.

The word "Jesus" represents an individualized level of enlightenment and experience. Christ, on the other hand represents an epithet, an explanation of the quality of enlightenment reached by "Jesus". For this reason, and in the context of Western Mysteries, "Jesus" represents the Perfect Mold, the inner workings of the purified "Substance" and the vehicle in which the path of AWAKENING the level of Christ Consciousness takes place...

The word "Consciousness" (in Syriac means Messiah and in Greek Christos means the Anointed One). As for the word "The Nazarene", the meaning is: "He who reveals what is hidden".

As for the word "Messiah", it has two meanings, "Christ or the Anointed One" and "The Measured One"

Please note that "Jesus" in Hebrew means "The Redemption" and the word "Nazara" means "The Truth". Thus, "The Nazarene" means "Truth". Jesus had attained "Nazirutha", perfect spiritual enlightenment, and that he also taught that path to others. Hence, Jesus and his disciples were Nazarenes or Nazoraeans: meaning, followers of the mystic path to God, or Pure Being.

The original apostles used the terms: 'Jesus the Nazoraean Messiah', which means 'Jesus, the Nazoraean, the Christ "The Anointed One". Annointed and Enlightenment is one and the same word.

Remember: The last name is "Christ", the first name is "Jesus", the middle name is "The Nazarene".

Hence the Name "Jesus Christ the Nazarene" means; The Anointed One, the Giver of Truth - The Bringer and Source of Redemption - The Revealer of what is hidden - The Enlightened One who has the gift to Awaken others. The teaching of Christ and Buddha was originally based on teaching "Enlightenment."

In the language of the Christian mysteries, the Name YESHUA corresponds to Jesus's existence as a heavenly power in eternity (the Perfect Model). The INITIATOR and SAVIOR in the Christian Mystical Mysteries... Hence it is the transcendent Spirit beyond the realm of physical matter... On the other hand, Yeheshuah, or (Jeshua) - Jesus represents the immanent Spirit present within physical matter. (the Perfect Mold).

Did you happen to see the 1988 Martin Scorsese movie "The Last Tempation of Christ."

Please understand that I do not profess to give some expert thesis. I am a Buddhist leader who believes that Buddhism has value being taught from the prospective of a "Proud Black Buddhist." Being a "Proud Black Buddhist" gives me the courage to view life from the prospective of an African Inclusion of history in our faith. How can anyone who understands history 2000 years ago at the time of Christ write African people out of both Buddhist history and Christian history. We who understand the mythos of Christ can confidently declare that Christ was a Buddhist. We started the Proud Black Buddhist World Association.

Does it seem like a coincidence that both Christ and Buddha went into a challenging condition of facing a devil or the devil and end up reaching the condition of enlightenment? The Buddhist teaching of Nichiren Daishonin gives us an understanding of the law of "Cause and Effect." When we view phenomena we view thing from the standpoint of the 10 aspects in Buddhism. The Gosho or writings of Nichiren Daishonin reads; "Only Buddhas know the true aspect of all phenomena." Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism teaches that all phenomena has ten aspects 1.Appearance 2. Nature 3. Entity 4.Power 5. Influence 6. Internal Cause 7. Relationship 8. Latent effect 9. Manifest Effect 10. Consistency from beginning to the End.

In a Buddhist sense we who study phenomena are clear that the story of Christ and Buddha have a "Relationship." This relationship is why British historian Sir Godfrey Higgins writes;

"The time has now arrived when it becomes proper to enter upon an examination of the doctrines of the celebrated Buddha of India, which were the foundations of all the mythoses of the Western nations, as well as of those which we have seen of Cristna; and from these two were supplied most of the superstitions which became engrafted into the religion of Jesus Christ.

I shall shew, that Buddha and Cristna were only renewed incarnations of the same Being, and that Being the Solar power, or a principle symbolized by the Sun—a principle made by the sun visible to the eyes of mortals : and particularly exhibiting himself in his glory at the vernal equinox, in the heavenly constellation known by the name of Taurus, as BUDDHA, and subsequently in that of Aries, as CRISTNA."

From the standpoint of Buddhism the Buddha Shakyamuni of India story is the "Temptation of Mara." Mara is the Devil. The Buddha tells the story in a dramatic way of how he had to fight the "Devils army." The devil sent women and all of the things that we humans fall two. I will not get into preaching. I want readers to simply open their minds to understanding the phenomena of the stories of Christ and the Buddha. When you get a clear understanding of the phenomena you will understand that Christ is the Buddha it is just the same story changed.
