The messenger of the Buddha Nichiren Daishonin Japan 13th Century  writes in the "True entity of life" Gosho; "Exert yourself in the two ways of practice and study. Without practice and study, there can be no Buddhism. You must not only persevere yourself; you must also teach others. Both practice and study arise from faith. Teach others to the best of your ability, even if only a single sentence or phase"

Greetings everyone I am going to catch holy hell from writing this lecture. I am a Nichiren Buddhist living in Memphis, Tennessee. I have been a Buddhist for 40 years. Back in the day we use to study Buddhism and we had many people studying Buddhism. The SGI Buddhist organization brought in Japanese leaders and they set up a system of what I call “Mind Manipulation.” The  NSA Buddhist teachings later became a cult of Daisaku Ikeda worship. Instead of giving the teachings of Nichiren Daishonin the SGI taught Buddhism from the Culture of the “Ikeda Spin.”

I left the SGI and I joined the Nichiren Shoshu Temple and I found a culture of “Japanese Mind Manipulation” whereas we were taught more “Japanese Culture” than Nichiren Daishonin’s Buddhism. In my hometown of Memphis, Tennessee I found a culture of ignorance at the Buddhist meetings. Earlier in Nichiren Shoshu Buddhism there was an African/American man by the name of the late Julius Dorsey who introduced Buddhism in Memphis to many African/Americans. The Japanese Priest told Julius that he could not teach Buddhism any more and that he could only read the Priest canned words at Buddhist meetings. The Japanese Priest set up a Japanese Buddhist “Template” in Memphis and they mandated that members follow only the Japanese “Template.”  How can African/Americans learn from a "Template?" Such things have no spirit.

It is absolutely incredulous to me watching people practice Buddhism via the “Priest Japanese Template.” In over a decade there has not been one single person who has joined Buddhism in Memphis and who had stuck with the Japanese system  or who has grown in Buddhist faith  in Memphis.

Regarding my Buddhist Lecture Christ was a Buddhist; I am going to catch hell all of the way around. The Christians will get angry with me. Most of all many African/American Buddhist will get angry with me. The African/American Buddhist will get angry with me because I as an independent and free thinking African/American will go toe to toe with any Japanese Priest, any Black or White man who seeks to manipulate the truth.  What happen to the "culture of education and discussion?" A template, Please!!

Just because I do not lick up to Nichiren Shoshu Priest in America does not make me any less of a Nichiren  Buddhist. The teachings of Nichiren Daishonin are profound, the lack of expanding the teachings of Nichiren Daishonin beyond the Japanese model is what I call a slander and travesty of Nichiren Daishonin’s Teachings. Nichiren Daishonin encourages his disciples to exert themselves in the two ways of Practice and Study of Buddhism.  Imagine going to  a Black Church and listening to a "Canned speech." Such things are not  Black culture.  African/American preachers are eloquent like President Obama.
