Prior to coming to Ghana in February 2001 Alan informed me of the
challenges that he was facing getting to Ghana. I can recall Alan spouting
off about the significance and spiritually of his going to Ghana in February
2001. During our visit this year it amazed me how Alan managed to get
around in Ghana. Our hotel rooms were next door to each other but for the
most part Alan was hanging out with the young Ghana brothers. Alan would
come back telling me about the street Shakubuku that he was doing in
Ghana. In addition to his Shakubuku work Alan was doing his spiritual
healing service free of charge in Ghana. I recall one sister from the temple
who was scheduled for an operation and Alan performed his service on the
sister. I was just laid back checking things out and Alan put the sister on a
table that he borrowed from my room and the sister was knocked out in a
trance. Alan asked me could he sleep in my room because the sister was
processing spiritually and he did not wish to wake her. I told Alan that he
had better wake her because she explained to us that she had to be home
and that her parents would worry. Alan touched the sister carefully and
after a while she woke up. The sister seemed embarrassed that she was
laying on a table sleeping with us men looking at her. She asked how long
was she sleeping and what was the time? The sister rushed to get a Taxi
home, me I was just checking Alan out. Alan informed her that her sickness
was coming from a lack of communication with her parents and he explained
to her that she needed more treatments before he departed to America.
After the sister left Alan worked on one of the young Buddhist brothers that
Alan had taken under his wing. After a few days in Ghana I spoke with
Alan before he left. Alan informed me that he had accomplished his spiritual
mission at this time in Ghana. Alan explained that his mission was to heal
some people in Ghana and to work on his spiritually. After returning Alan
talked of doing some lectures and teaching at a university in Ghana.
