The Ten Aspects

1. Appearance: attributes of things discernible from the outside, such as color, form, shape, and behavior. We have an appearance of a new life form and entity surrounding hair. We will explain later how this phenomena arrived into existence.

2. Nature: the inherent disposition or quality of a thing or being that cannot be discerned from the outside. T'ient'ai characterizes it as unchanging and irreplaceable. The nature of fire, for instance, is unchanging and cannot be replaced by that of water. He also refers to the "true nature," which he regards as the ultimate truth, or Buddha nature. Hair has a karma that affects African/Americans immensely and we will later examine the nature of this phenomena.

3. Entity: the essence of life that permeates and integrates appearance and nature. These first three factors describe the reality of life itself. The next six factors, from the fourth, power, through the ninth, manifest effect, explain the functions and workings of life. We have the entity of Good hair and this entity took on a life or Karma of its own that effects million of Black people worldwide.

4. Power: life's potential energy. Every thing has some kind of power whereas discarded hair in India creates a muti-billion dollar industry in America income derived from African/Americans purchasing Indian hair from India. The power of "Good Hair" has created a 9 Billion dollar Black hair industry in America alone and "Good Hair' has the power to change lives of others.

5. Influence : potential power of good hair cause great influences that affects the life of millions of Black people  whereas many are slaves to “Good Hair.

6. Internal cause: the cause latent in life that produces an effect of the same quality as itself, i.e., good, evil, or neutral. All phenomena has an Internal cause. When you look at Indian hair on the heads of African/American women we can realize that such phenomena had a cause in India thousands of years ago.

7. Relation: the relationship of indirect causes to the internal cause. Indirect causes are various conditions, both internal and external, that help the internal cause produce an effect. We also can describe Relation as Karma and this Karma of Good Hair makes many causes in the lives of others.

8. Latent effect: the effect produced in life when an internal cause is activated through its relationship with various conditions. The phenomena of “Good Hair” is a clear cut case of a Latent effect of causes and effects that happen thousands of years ago are effecting us today.

9. Manifest effect: the tangible, perceivable result that emerges in time as an expression of a latent effect and therefore of an internal cause, again through its relationship with various conditions. We clearly see the Manifest effect of having straight hair or "Good hair" that it has upon Black people today.

10. Consistency from beginning to end: the unifying factor among the ten factors. It indicates that all of the other nine factors from the beginning (appearance) to the end (manifest effect) are consistently and harmoniously interrelated. All nine factors thus consistently and harmoniously express the same condition of existence at any given moment. The phenomena of “Good Hair is consistent from beginning to end.

The aspect or manifestation of how African/Americans or Black people view hair is simply an explanation or phenomena called life or Myoho (mystic law) renge or (cause & effect) kyo (teachings or sutra). The phase Nam Myoho Renge Kyo encompasses the entirety of all phenomena and life.

The scientific evaluation of Black people relationship to what we call “Good Hair is totally in concert with Nichiren  Buddhist teachings. Nichiren  teachings are based on the ill-refutable law of cause and effect and the teachings are based upon the one absolute law or ultimate law of Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.

The discovery and understanding the Movie “Good Hair” gives us a window of our past, and evaluation of our present and a vision of our future. We humans can look at the phenomena of “Good Hair” from the eyes of Buddhist teaching and grasp the wisdom and have a clearer understanding of this phenomenon.

Buddhism deals with the nature of phenomena and every aspect is categorized via 3000 Worlds or conditions of life. These conditions apply to sentient beings as well as insentient-beings. Let us apply the aspects of the 3000 worlds to hair while sharing these profound Buddhist teachings.

Please note that these conditions apply to sentient beings as well as insentient-beings. Let us take the concept of “Beings;” there are Sentient as well as insentient beings. Sentient Beings are what we call living and insentient are what we call non living. Let us examine the definition of Beings;

Beyonce Knowles the world famous singer who wears Weave or has the "Good Hair."
This is a picture of Solange or Beyonce's little sister who decided to no longer be a slave to "Good Hair" discarded her weave.  She said that she was spending as much as 50,000 a year to maintain the "good hair" look.
Solange declared her freedom on the Oprah Winfrey show by cutting her hair and insisted that she would no longer be a slave to "Good Hair" watch the video
Nichiren Buddhism explains that all phenomena exist in 3000 realms or moments of life.  This theory is called Ichinen Sanzen.  All phenomena has Ten Aspects 10 x 10 worlds=100 x 10 = 1000 and each world exist in each world x 3 realms= 3000.  Instead of giving a complicated theory we use "Good Hair" to teach Nichiren Buddhism to make it interesting and understandable.
