We at the Proud Black Buddhist World Association treat our Gohonzons with the highest reverence and respect. The Buddhist Saint Nichiren Daishonin entrusted his disciples with a Gohonzon. We at the Proud Black Buddhist World Association entrust only those with a Gohonzon who are honest and sincere in regards to accepting the Nichiren religious Buddhist faith with our organization. ’ means to awaken faith through doctrine and to make faith the basis of practice.” We believe that every candidate for a Gohonzon should have as Nichiren Shonin writes have a "doctrinal understanding" of the Gohonzon. Nichiren writes "awaken faith through doctrine and make faith the basis of the practice. Our Gohonzon represents a new Buddhist Epoch in America where Buddhist faith is taken up by common people and not a Priest.
